Yes, really. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, who played Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad, were spotted behind a bar at the “happiest place on Earth,” pouring shots for fans. The show, which holds the Guinness World Record for the “Highest-Rated TV series”, ended in 2013… but the friendship? Yeah that never ended.
According to Disney fan site The DIS, the duo made a special appearance at Naples Ristorante e Bar and Paseo in Downtown Disney in early September. They got behind the bar, mixed cocktails and served shots of Dos Hombres, the mezcal [a distilled alcoholic beverage made from any type of agave] they co-founded.
From co-stars to co-founders
The idea started at a dinner in New York, about three years before the launch. Cranston asked whether it was too early to do another project together on screen. Paul thought it was, since they were still so closely tied to Breaking Bad. His counter-offer was to go into business together.
Mezcal was Paul’s passion. Cranston admitted he was confused at first – all he knew was that it was a cheap bottle with a worm at the bottom. They traveled to Oaxaca and found their spirit in San Luis del Rio, a village of about 400 people. Dos Hombres, Spanish for “two men,” launched in July 2019.
The brand has grown since. Constellation Brands bought a minority stake in 2021, and this April the pair expanded into tequila with a Blanco and a Reposado.
A brand built on showing up
Dos Hombres runs on personal appearances. Cranston and Paul tour bars, restaurants, and stores, signing bottles and pouring drinks themselves. Disney has become a regular stop:
EPCOT: At La Cava del Tequila, they helped cook up a Breaking Bad-inspired cocktail called the Crystal Inferno.
Disney Springs: In September 2024, they joined chef Rick Bayless at Frontera Cocina for an event called Savor the Spirit.
SoFi Stadium: They launched their first branded Dos Hombres bar on the stadium’s sixth floor during a Rams game, serving a custom cocktail called “GO FOR DOS!”
Downtown Disney: Bar takeover at the Naples and Paseo.
Why it works?
Plenty of celebrities put their names on bottles. This one works because the friendship is real, and fans get to meet Walter and Jesse over a drink instead of a photo. As Cranston put it, guys just need an excuse to hang out. For them, that excuse happens to be mezcal.
